Our blue water big game charters are available March – May and August – November. These trips can be booked as a private charter with just your group on board, or as a walk-on style in which you just pay for the number of fishermen in your party and we find the rest of the fishermen needed to round out the trip. Only 10 fishermen are allowed on these trips aboard the Lady Ann or 11 fishermen on the Escape. So even if you choose the walk-on style trip, there is still plenty of room on board for everyone.
So, what does a typical Bluewater Trip look like? Here is a sample itinerary. Keep in mind that our trips are subject to weather conditions, locations of highly migratory fish species, location of bluewater, etc. Even if those conditions force our captains to alter the sample itinerary, you can rest assured that they will do their best to help your group catch lots of fish.
Day 1:
- 4:00 pm departure (fall trips after Sept. 15 will depart at 3:00 pm)
- Catch live bait on the way out using sabiki rigs
- Grill dinner on the Big Green Egg
- Depending on the distance to bluewater, we may fish for cobia, triggerfish, beeliner, and/or amberjack on the way out. If bluewater is further out, we may not do any fishing on evening 1 besides fishing for live bait.
Day 2:
- 3:00 or 4:00 am- start tuna fishing the morning bite. This usually includes chunking for yellowfin, using live baits, and jigging for blackfin.
- After daylight, we will be trolling, live bait fishing, and kite fishing for tuna, wahoo, dolphin, and blue and white marlin.
- Deep drop grouper fishing (sometimes on day 3 instead of day 2 depending on location / conditions)
- Evening tuna bite- jigging / chunking around oil platforms
- Deep drop swordfishing over night
Day 3:
- Grouper fishing / bottom fishing on the way in depending on location / distance to travel
- Return to the marina at mid-day (noon – 2pm usually)
Blue Water 2 Night Trip- Private Charter
This trip is similar to our Combo Bottom Fishing/Overnight Trip but with double the blue water
fishing time. This extra blue water time allows us to explore many more offshore oil platforms
for more blue water species. We depart at 4 pm (fall trips after Sept. 15 will depart at 3:00 pm) on day 1 to travel the offshore oil platforms.
Once we arrive at the deep water rigs (80-100 miles offshore), we will fish for Tuna, Dolphin, Wahoo,
Blue and White Marlin, Sailfish, and Swordfish until after dark. We spend the night at the deep water rigs, also
spending night 2 there. We fish our way back home on day 3 to arrive back at the dock about mid-day.
Lady Ann : $8,500 for 1-10 passengers
Escape : $9,350 for 1-11 passengers

Overnight / Bottom Fishing Combo- Private Charter
Spend one night offshore as you experience a combination of bottom fishing and offshore big-game fishing. We depart at 6 am and bottom fish for red snapper, vermillion snapper, grouper, triggerfish, and amberjack (subject to reef fish seasons) on our way out to deeper water. Once we arrive at the deep water rigs, we will fish for tuna, dolphin, wahoo, marlin, and swordfish. We spend the night at the deep water rigs and then fish our way back home to arrive at 4 pm on day 2.
