Our walk-on trips and shared charters are the perfect option for those who want to experience our fishing trips, but don’t have a large enough group or budget to charter a whole boat. You just reserve the number of spaces that you need and we will find others to share the boat with you. You will still get the same great service offered on our private charter trips.
So what is the difference between a walk-on trip and a shared charter? Our walk-on trips are only available on the Lady Ann and Escape. These are our 2 biggest boats, complete with all the comforts of home- fully enclosed air conditioned cabin, full bathroom, microwave, coffee maker, sleeping bunks, etc. These are the only 2 deep sea fishing boats on Dauphin Island that are USCG certified to carry more than 6 passengers. Because we are able to carry more passengers on these boats, we are able to split the cost between those passengers to provide you a more budget conscious deep sea fishing trip.
The shared charters cost more per person than the walk-on trip even when the duration of the trip is shorter. Here’s why: on every trip, the total cost is split among everyone on board. The shared charters are available aboard Honey & Jamm and Minutes of Use, each of which can carry only 6 passengers. Because only 6 passengers are allowed per boat, each person’s share of the cost is naturally higher than on a walk-on trip, which carries more passengers on our larger boats to spread the cost across.
