FAQ

What should I bring with me for a charter fishing trip?

Bring your food and drinks iced down in small coolers (no glass bottles please). Bring a camera, sunscreen for yourself and a good supply of ZipLoc bags to take your fish home. We furnish rods, reels, bait, ice for the fish, tackle and fishing licenses.

How far out do we go?

From 15 miles offshore on the shorter trips, up to 100 miles offshore on the 2 & 3 day trips. We will go wherever we think we can put you on the biggest and most fish.

What kind of bait do you use?

We use pogies, squid, mullet, minnows, lures, jigs, and live bait subject to availability.

What type of fish do we catch?

“That depends on the length and type of fishing trip you choose” .

Please review the various fishing trips that we offer to get more of an idea of the specific fish that we catch.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

What if the weather isn’t good on the day of my trip?

Our captains keep a very close eye on the weather using several marine apps, on-board radar, etc.  Your safety and enjoyment is their top priority.  It is usually difficult to get an accurate forecast more than a day or two in advance.  If the captain becomes concerned about the weather for your trip, we will give you a call.  We try to wait as late as possible before cancelling due to weather because sometimes the forecasts change.  If we do have to cancel due to weather, your deposit is fully refunded.

Do I HAVE to make reservations- even for a WALK-ON trip?

Well, no.  But we do not run walk-on style trips every day.  Many days our boats are running private charters.  And many days our walk-on trips are full.  By making a reservation, we can be sure to have a space held for you.  But if you do choose to just show up at the dock and we do have a walk-on trip with spaces still available, then of course we will be happy to take you fishing!
